Limited edition for the 140th anniversary
In 2024, the watch manufacturer from Grenchen will celebrate 140 years of Breitling. In this context, it may go without saying that the manufacturer is coming up with appropriate anniversary editions for this occasion. Three limited edition wristwatches with automatic chronograph and perpetual calendar, all equipped with solid gold cases, are very exclusive.
Each of the 140 gold pieces costs 55,000 euros. Uhrenkosmos took a look at the Breitling Premier B19 Datora 42 140th Anniversary, the Navitimer B19 Chronograph 43 Perpetual Calendar 140th Anniversary and the Super Chronomat B19 44 Perpetual Calendar 140th Anniversary as part of the product launch for the 140th anniversary.
These are by no means the first Breitling chronographs with a perpetual calendar and moon phase display. In contrast to previous editions, and Breitling attaches great importance to this, the specialist Dubois-Dépraz was not involved. The cadre, which is powered by the in-house automatic caliber B01, was developed and constructed by the company itself.
Earlier models with the modular caliber B29 based on an Eta 2892-A2 have differently positioned indications. The cadre of the current B19 naturally had to take the axis distances of the B01 into account. And the moon phase display at “12” is reminiscent of that of the Breitling Chronomat with the hand-wound caliber Venus 184.
