Although it’s a bit hard for me to believe it, 15 years have passed since
the premiere of the first IWC watch from the TOP GUN family. In 2007, Replica IWC presented the Double Chronograph wrapped in matt black ceramics. Its titanium caseback features the characteristic logo of the American school of fighter pilots, located in the state of Nevada. Over the next decade and a half, IWC systematically developed the collection, keeping it only in black for a long time. 3 years ago, the black was broken with the sand-colored ceramics of the “Mojave Desert” models, and now the collection will be joined by two new colors. in which IWC is one of the experts in the entire watch industry (with experience dating back to the 1980s).
Two fresh references are the “Lake Taheo” and “Woodland” chronographs. The first presents an all white ceramic case, set with a black dial and steel details. The second, definitely more associated with military style, is a dark green ceramic case, a dark green dial and a Ceratenium case back,
buttons and a crown finished in black mat. Both watches have a sizable 44.5 mm case,
15.7 mm thick and water resistant to 6 bar. Lake Taheo was matched with a white rubber strap, and Woodland was given a green rubber and canvas strap.
The heart of the watches is the in-house automatic caliber 69380. The Werk has a column wheel for operating the stopwatch, a double date display (days of the week and date),
a small seconds dial and a power reserve of 46 hours.
Replica IWC will produce 1,000 of both models per year
(so they are not subject to a specific limitation). For the white “Lake Tahoe” you need to pay EUR 10,100 (~ PLN 47,000),
and for the green “Woodland” EUR 11,100 (~ PLN 51,650).
