The 24 most beautiful retro watches of 2024: Replica Rolex, Audemars Piguet Replica,Replica Patek Philippe, Seiko, Fake Cartier…
For years, brands like Cartier, Longines, Replica Rolex and Audemars Piguet have been reintroducing models that bring their most valuable attributes – identity and heritage – up to date while embracing the evolution of their artisanal skills and their technical innovations. This year, watchmaking is revisiting its retro and vintage foundations more than ever. Almost all the big names have delved into their archives to create iconic models.
Black Bay 58 GMT – Tudor
If we were to call a friend to chat about vintage finds, Bob’s Watches founder Paul Altieri’s number would have a keyboard shortcut. “I really like the size of the case and the vintage gold text, not to mention the ‘Coke’ bezel which we didn’t expect from Tudor,” says Paul Altieri about the new Black Bay 58 GMT. “It reminds me of the fuchsia glasses on some Rolex GMT-Masters from the late 1960s.”
Carrera Skipper Gold – Tag Heuer
If the hype surrounding Tag Heuer’s Carrera Skipper 1968 is more art than science, we have no doubt that its tricolor dial will win everyone’s support. The return of a revisited version last year was only the first step in a very well-oiled plan, the culmination of which is none other than this rose gold beauty that no one saw coming. For anyone who loves retro inspired watches, this watch is definitely the best.
Stopover – Louis Vuitton
Like the Tambour revisited last year, LV is giving its Escale a big facelift for 2024. The watch, completely refined compared to previous models, presents countless nods to the emblematic trunk of LV: the four applied gold indices, the gold minute indices, the leather strap and even the canvas-like texture of the dial. This 39mm model in pink gold is decidedly more elegant, thanks to the movements that LV manufactures in its watchmaking facilities at La Fabrique du Temps. If Escale has a very pretty name, there is no doubt that Vuitton’s excellence in watchmaking belongs to eternity.
Portugieser Chronograph – IWC
For Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC, the Portugieser Chronograph brings together “all the DNA of IWC” in a single watch. This is an ultra-faithful remake of the 1939 original, with only minor tweaks (including a wonderfully updated movement). Christoph Grainger-Herr believes that this is “often a person’s first, or even only, watch purchase.” If the buyer remains faithful to their watch, it makes sense that IWC remains faithful to the original.
Genbi Valley Hi-Beat Limited Edition – Grand Seiko
A natural beauty. Japan’s most revered watchmaker. This is what the watch gods predict. This time, the masters of Grand Seiko have unveiled a dial pattern inspired by the view that can be seen from the windows of the brand’s headquarters in Shizukuishi, Iwate Prefecture. This is the ninth improvement to the 1967 44GS model – and with a high-rate in-house 9SA5 movement, it’s arguably the finest.
Iced Sea Automatic Date – Montblanc
Why have Montblanc’s Iced Sea dive watches been so successful since their launch three years ago? “Because the history and characteristics of the watch make it unique,” according to Laurent Lecamp, Managing Director of Montblanc, who lives and breathes the Alpine life like few others. The decision to include the glacier that gave its name to the brand on the dial is genius, and this bronze version is even more special.
